Mishimoto MMAI-TAC-24 is the oiled-filter version of Mishimoto's performance air intake for the 2024-2026 Toyota Tacoma running the T24A-FTS 2.4L turbo engine on the TNGA-F chassis, in non-Trailhunter form.

The problem Mishimoto set out to solve here was restriction ahead of the turbo, and the answer was measured rather than asserted: on the flow bench the system is up to 27.7 percent less restrictive than stock with the secondary inlet plug removed, and on the dyno it returns up to 11.6 horsepower and 10.6 lb-ft, concentrated in the midrange where turbo response is most sensitive to airflow. Two details do the work. The factory's corrugated inlet hose gives way to a four-layer smooth silicone coupler, removing the turbulence those ribs create. And the MAF housing is injection-moulded from glass-filled nylon to OEM geometry, so the sensor reads what it expects and the truck stays on its stock tune.

The secondary air inlet is the part that matters off pavement. It draws from the passenger-side fender for extra volume and ships with a removable plug, so you can seal it before a water crossing or a dusty run and open it afterwards. A flexible grommet holds the seal while the chassis flexes on the trail.

Fitment

Mishimoto lists this intake for the 2024-2026 Toyota Tacoma with the T24A-FTS 2.4L turbo engine.

Does not fit Trailhunter applications - Mishimoto publishes the part as the non-Trailhunter intake, so a Trailhunter owner needs a different system.

  • 2024-2026 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L turbo (T24A-FTS), non-Trailhunter

FAQ

Does MMAI-TAC-24 fit a Trailhunter Tacoma?

No. Mishimoto publishes this intake as the non-Trailhunter part, so Trailhunter trucks are excluded.

Is the Mishimoto MMAI-TAC-24 legal in California?

No CARB EO number was found for this part. It is not legal for sale or use in California or other states that have adopted California emission standards.

What does the secondary inlet plug do?

Removing it opens the fender inlet for maximum flow, where the 27.7 percent restriction reduction is measured. Refitting it seals the inlet for water fording or dusty conditions.

What is the difference between MMAI-TAC-24 and MMAI-TAC-24DW?

MMAI-TAC-24 ships with the oiled filter, MMAI-TAC-24DW with the dry washable filter. Airbox, MAF housing and hardware are identical; an oiled filter needs re-oiling after cleaning and a dry one does not.
