The 2.4L turbo four in the fourth-generation Tacoma makes its power on boost, and boost is unforgiving about inlet restriction and heat soak. Injen's answer here is a two-part one: get the restriction out of the way with a large fully serviceable dry filter and a smooth tube, then keep the underhood heat off it with a dedicated shield.
