The AMP Research PowerStep Xtreme (78239-01A) is a complete pair of electric retractable running boards for the 2018 Ram 1500 (DS body), 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic, and 2018-2024 Ram 2500/3500. Each board deploys the instant a door opens and retracts flush under the rocker a few seconds after the doors close.

Why owners choose it

Auto-deploys the instant a door opens, then retracts flush under the rocker a few seconds after the doors close — out of sight when not in use.
AMP's heavy-duty PowerStep: a reinforced die-cast aluminum linkage with stainless steel pivot pins for extra durability.
Extruded aluminum step board, 6 in. wide and cab-length, with a non-slip tread rated to support 600 lb per side.
Integrated LED step lights illuminate the step area at night.
Vehicle-specific plug-in OBD-II wiring harness installs with no wire cutting or splicing.
Hidden under the rocker when retracted for full ground clearance and a clean factory look.

What's included

Sold as a complete kit for both sides of the truck. Includes the driver- and passenger-side PowerStep Xtreme assemblies with motors, a vehicle-specific plug-in OBD-II wiring harness and control module, mounting brackets and hardware, integrated LED step lights, and an installation guide. Some cab configurations require trimming the board to length; professional installation is recommended.

Fitment

Fits the 2018 Ram 1500 (previous DS body), the 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic, and the 2018-2024 Ram 2500 and 3500 in all cabs. Does not fit the new-body (DT) 2019-and-newer Ram 1500. Excludes Mega Cab with Air Ride suspension. On 2019 HD models it fits diesel only.

Which PowerStep fits your truck

This 78239-01A is for the Ram 1500 Classic (DS body) and the 2500/3500 HD. The new-body (DT) 2019-2024 Ram 1500 uses the Smart Series 86240-01A or the Vision 96240-01A — confirm whether your 1500 is the Classic or the new body before ordering.

FAQ

Does the 78239-01A fit a new-body 2019+ Ram 1500?

No. It fits the 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic (previous DS body) and the 2018-2024 Ram 2500/3500, not the new-body DT 1500. Mega Cab with Air Ride is also excluded.
