Retrax PowertraxPRO MX 90234 is the RamBox-specific electric retractable aluminum tonneau for the 2009-2018 Ram 1500 (DS body) and the 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic, both with the 5'7" bed and the factory RamBox cargo management system.

RamBox is exactly why a part number matters here. The lockable side bins narrow the usable box, so a RamBox truck needs a cover cut and railed for that narrower opening — a standard-bed Ram cover will not span it, and a RamBox cover will not seal a standard bed. The 90234 is the RamBox width. Order it only if your Ram has the bins.

Once it is on, the PowertraxPRO MX is a fob-driven cover: press the fob and the double-walled aluminum slat deck spirals into the canister at the bulkhead. An electromagnetic brake stops the deck wherever you release it, so a long load can sit half in the bed with the rest of the box shut.

Fitment

The 90234 fits 2009-2018 Ram 1500 trucks and 2019-2024 Ram 1500 Classic trucks with the 5'7" bed and the factory RamBox option. Both of those are the DS body — the Classic is the old body Ram kept building alongside the new DT truck from 2019 through 2024, which is why one part number spans two apparent generations. Does not fit the 2019-2025 Ram 1500 DT: that truck uses 90244, even though its bed is also called 5'7" with RamBox. Does not fit a Ram 1500 without RamBox, and does not fit the 6'4" bed.

Does 90234 fit a 2021 Ram 1500?

Only if it is a Ram 1500 Classic, the old DS body Ram sold alongside the new truck through 2024. A 2021 Ram 1500 DT with RamBox takes 90244 instead.

Do I need RamBox for this cover?

Yes. The 90234 is the RamBox-width application. A Ram 1500 without the RamBox bins takes a different part number.

How do I tell a Ram 1500 Classic from a DT?

The Classic keeps the 2009-2018 body, grille and interior; Ram badged it "Classic" from 2019 to 2024 while the redesigned DT was sold as the Ram 1500.
