The S&B 76-6001 Helmet Particle Separator is a filterless, variable-speed forced-air pumper that supplies clean air to two helmets at once, using military-derived particle-separation technology instead of a filter element.

Fitment

The Helmet Particle Separator is helmet air-supply equipment rather than a vehicle-specific part, so there is no year-and-model fitment list for it. It clamps to a roll bar rather than bolting to a chassis, and the supplied bar mount kits cover 1.25", 1.5", 1.75", 1.85", 2" and 2.5" tubing, which spans the common cage sizes on UTVs, sand cars, buggies and race trucks.

Compatibility is decided by the helmet, not the machine. S&B states the unit works with helmets that accept a fresh-air hose with a 1.5 inch inside diameter, which is the size of both supplied 6 ft hoses. Because the unit has two outlet ports, one Separator serves a driver and a co-driver.

S&B specifies that the unit be mounted horizontally with the exhaust fan pointing straight down, so the ejected dust falls clear. The intake side can face either forward or rearward, which gives some freedom over where in the cage it sits.
