Key Features
- Suction cup antenna mount for glass and clean non-porous surfaces
- Swiveling base mounts at any angle
- Solution for aluminum/fiberglass bodies, chase vehicles and motorhomes — no roof drilling
- Requires a non-ground-plane (NGP) antenna such as the VHF-1/2W-SPR or POINT5
- Developed by Scosche for Rugged Radios
The Rugged Radios NMO-SC suction cup antenna mount attaches an NMO antenna to glass or any clean, non-porous surface — ideal for aluminum- or fiberglass-bodied trucks that cannot use a magnetic mount, and for chase vehicles and motorhomes where drilling the roof is not wanted. Developed by Scosche for Rugged Radios, the tough swiveling base mounts at any angle.
Requirements
Because a suction mount does not provide a metal ground plane, it requires a non-ground-plane (NGP) antenna, such as the Rugged VHF-1/2W-SPR or the POINT5. You will also need an NMO cable mount such as the NMO-MT-15 (15 ft) to reach the radio. Antenna and cable are sold separately.
Specifications
- Suction cup base for glass and clean non-porous body panels
- Swivel design mounts on any angle
- For vehicles that cannot use a magnet mount (aluminum/fiberglass bodies)
- Requires a non-ground-plane (NGP) antenna (e.g. VHF-1/2W-SPR, POINT5)
- Developed by Scosche for Rugged Radios
Sold as the suction cup mount only. NGP antenna and NMO coax cable sold separately.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need an NGP antenna with this mount?
A suction mount does not sit on a steel ground plane, so a standard antenna will not perform properly. Use a non-ground-plane antenna such as the Rugged VHF-1/2W-SPR or POINT5.
Will it stick to my truck's body?
It holds on clean, non-porous surfaces like glass and smooth body panels — a good option for aluminum or fiberglass bodies where magnet mounts will not work.
Do I still need a coax cable?
Yes. Pair it with an NMO cable mount such as the NMO-MT-15 to connect the antenna to your radio; both antenna and cable are sold separately.
