The Rugged Radios NMO antenna coax cable (part # NMO-MT) is a 3/8 in NMO antenna mount with attached coax cable for connecting an external antenna to a mobile radio, offered in 13 ft, 15 ft and 17 ft lengths. The crimped NMO connection and nickel-plated brass mount make a secure, weather-tight connection for VHF and UHF radios.
Fitment and mounting
The mount installs through a 3/8 in thread hole in the roof or mounting panel. For thick roofs up to 1/2 in, use the thick-mount version instead (see NMO-TM-U, sold separately). Rugged notes the 15 ft length is the most popular for UTV installs; ideally the cable runs the distance from radio to antenna without excess, and any extra cable should run straight rather than coiled. Do not overtighten the NMO nut or the antenna onto the NMO connector — the stud can be damaged.
