The Rugged Radios ANT-SPARE-KIT-U is a complete GMRS/UHF No Ground Plane (NGP) whip antenna kit with an NMO cable mount for mobile two-way radios. Because it is a No Ground Plane design, the POINT5 antenna does not need to be mounted to a metal surface, so it works on fiberglass or composite panels where a standard antenna would not. The kit ships with a threaded-NMO POINT5 UHF whip, a 3/8 in NMO cable mount, and 15 feet of coax cable.
Compatibility
This is the UHF/GMRS version, tuned for roughly 450–470 MHz. For a VHF radio use the ANT-SPARE-KIT-V instead. This kit uses a standard NMO surface mount; if you need a magnetic mount, choose the ANT-SPARE-MAG-KIT-U. To avoid damage, do not overtighten the antenna into the NMO connector.
