Key Features

  • 600 W RMS / 1200 W peak power handling
  • Dual 2-ohm voice coils — wire parallel for 1 ohm or series for 4 ohm
  • 65 mm (2.56 in.) 4-layer CCAW voice coil with 17 mm Xmax
  • Mineral-injected pressed-pulp V-cone with Boundary Free IIR-butyl surround
  • Works in compact sealed boxes from 17 l (0.60 cu ft)
  • Vented bottom plate (10 ports) cools the coil with no center pole hole
  • Damping rubber disk included for direct box-wall mounting
  • Six-spoke anti-resonant aluminum basket shared with Mille Legend ML 2500.3

The Hertz MP 250 D2.3 is a Mille Pro 10 inch (250 mm) component car audio subwoofer with a dual 2-ohm voice coil, rated 600 watts RMS and 1200 watts peak, designed for compact sealed enclosures starting at 17 liters (0.60 cu ft) in any 12-volt vehicle install.

The pressed-pulp cone is injected with mineral powders and formed in Hertz's exponential V-cone profile so it moves like a piston at full excursion, with a Boundary Free IIR-butyl rubber surround that increases emission surface for higher output from the same 10 inch frame. The 65 mm (2.56 in.) 4-layer CCAW voice coil is wound on a vented TIL-P former, and the bottom plate's 10 cooling vents keep coil temperatures low without a center pole hole — which also lets you mount the subwoofer directly against the enclosure wall using the supplied damping rubber disk. The six-spoke anti-resonant aluminum alloy basket is the same used on the flagship Mille Legend ML 2500.3, and push-type terminals accept up to 8 AWG cable for low-resistance wiring in 1-ohm configurations.

What's Included

Sold as a single subwoofer. Includes a damping rubber disk for mounting the driver directly to the box wall. The MPG 250 die-cast aluminum grille is optional and sold separately.

Fitment / Compatibility

This is a universal 12-volt component subwoofer with no vehicle-specific fitment — it installs in any car, truck, or powersports audio system that can house a 10 inch enclosure with 160 mm (6.3 in.) of mounting depth. It requires an enclosure and an external amplifier. It is not a shallow-mount design: slim under-seat spaces need the Mille Pro Shallow MPS 250 S4 (82.6 mm deep) instead.

What size box does the Hertz MP 250 D2.3 need?

Hertz specifies a sealed enclosure starting at 17 liters (0.60 cu ft) or a reflex (ported) enclosure of 22 liters (0.78 cu ft).

Is the MP 250 D2.3 a 2-ohm or 4-ohm subwoofer?

It has dual 2-ohm voice coils: wire them in parallel for a 1-ohm load or in series for a 4-ohm load, so it matches both high-current monoblocks and standard 4-ohm amplifiers.

Do I need an amplifier for the MP 250 D2.3?

Yes. It is a passive component subwoofer with no built-in amplifier, rated 600 watts RMS, so it needs an external amplifier stable at your chosen 1-ohm or 4-ohm wiring.

Does the MP 250 D2.3 come with a grille?

No. The die-cast aluminum MPG 250 grille is optional; the box contains the subwoofer and a damping rubber disk for box-wall mounting.
