The Hertz HMX 6.5 S-LD is a two-way 165 mm (6.5 in) marine and powersports coaxial speaker with integrated RGB LED lighting, rated 75 W continuous and 150 W peak at 4 ohm - the LD suffix is Hertz's designation for the lit version of the HMX 6.5 S.

Fitment

The HMX 6.5 S-LD is a universal 6.5 inch coaxial speaker, not a vehicle-specific part, and it suits any 12 V system - side-by-sides, UTVs, ATVs, trucks, Jeeps and boats. What decides the install is the opening, not the make and model: the outer frame is 172.2 mm (6.78 in) across, the cutout is 125 mm (4.92 in), and it needs 95.6 mm (3.76 in) of depth behind the panel. Measure that depth first, because it is the dimension that stops most door installs.

Budget for the lighting side of the install as well as the audio side. The RGB LEDs are driven by the Hertz HM RGB 1 BK controller, which Hertz lists as a separate accessory rather than as part of this speaker, so a first-time build needs the controller as well as the speakers and amplifier power.

Impedance is 4 ohm and continuous power handling is 75 W, so match an amplifier channel to that figure rather than to the 150 W peak rating. Within the range, the plain HMX 6.5 S is the identical speaker without the LED lighting - pick that one if the build has its own lighting or needs none.
