The Hertz H8 DSP DRC is a car audio processor package that combines the Hertz H8 DSP 8-channel digital signal processor with the Hertz DRC HE wired dashboard remote controller, and it installs in any 12-volt vehicle audio system - car, truck, boat, or powersports. It interfaces with factory or aftermarket sources through 7 signal inputs and rebuilds the signal into up to 8 fully processed preamp output channels, so you can add real tuning power to an OEM head unit without replacing it.
The four high-level speaker inputs (which also accept low-level preamp signals) let the setup wizard sum filtered factory channels, flatten the OEM equalization curve, and reconstruct center, rear, and subwoofer channels from a simple stereo feed. A stereo AUX input and an S/PDIF optical digital input accepting up to 96 kHz / 24-bit round out the source options. Tuning is done in the Windows PC software in Standard or Expert mode; day-to-day control - volume, balance, fader, subwoofer level, source selection, and switching between two saved tuning memories - happens on the included DRC HE remote, with no PC needed after setup.
Sold as one package. Includes the H8 DSP processor and the DRC HE remote controller.

Compatibility
The H8 DSP DRC is a universal 12-volt component with no vehicle-specific fitment - it works in any vehicle where you can mount the compact chassis and run signal cables. It accepts input from any analog head unit (factory or aftermarket, high-level or preamp) and from digital sources via optical S/PDIF. It contains no amplifier stage: its 8 preamp outputs must feed one or more external amplifiers.
FAQ
Does the Hertz H8 DSP DRC include the remote control?
Yes. The DRC HE remote controller is included in this package - that is what the DRC suffix in the SKU means. The remote selects sources, switches between two saved tuning memories, and adjusts volume, balance, fader, and subwoofer level without a PC.
Does the H8 DSP power speakers directly?
No. The H8 DSP is a signal processor with 8 preamp outputs (4 V RMS max) and no built-in amplification. You need external amplifiers between the processor and your speakers.
Can it process a factory head unit signal?
Yes. The four high-level inputs accept factory speaker-level signal, and the software's setup wizard can sum filtered channels, flatten the OEM equalized response, and rebuild center, rear, and subwoofer channels from a stereo input.
What do I need to tune the H8 DSP?
A Windows PC (Hertz lists Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, and 10) connected over USB. After tuning, everyday adjustments are made from the included DRC HE remote.
