The Hertz CPX 165 is a Cento Pro line 6.5-inch (165 mm) 2-way coaxial car speaker rated 95 W RMS and 285 W peak power handling at 4 ohms, sold as a pair, with a 24 mm Tetolon dome tweeter and an integrated 4 kHz crossover built onto each woofer. It is a universal 12V drop-in upgrade for any vehicle with 6.5-inch speaker openings - no vehicle-specific fitment and no external crossover to mount.
The Tetolon fiber tweeter uses a neodymium magnet and a ferrofluid-cooled 20 mm voice coil for extended, detailed highs even off-axis, while Hertz's Radial Venting System - eight vent holes at the base of the motor - keeps the voice coil cool under load. The FEM-optimized pressed-paper cone with butyl-rubber surround delivers extended low-frequency response and solid punch from a door location.

Compatibility
The CPX 165 is a universal 12V coaxial speaker. It fits any car, truck, or SUV with standard 6.5-inch (165 mm) speaker openings, a cutout of about 141 mm (5.55 in.), and at least 65.5 mm (2.58 in.) of mounting depth. Because the coaxial tweeter sits above the mounting plane, allow roughly 24 mm (0.94 in.) of clearance in front of the speaker for the factory grille area. The 4-ohm load works with factory and aftermarket head units and amplifiers.

Will the Hertz CPX 165 fit my 6.5-inch speaker openings?
Yes. It is a standard 165 mm (6.5 in.) coaxial with a 141 mm (5.55 in.) cutout and 65.5 mm (2.58 in.) mounting depth; make sure your location also has about 24 mm of clearance above the mounting plane for the protruding coaxial tweeter.
Do I need an amplifier for the CPX 165?
No - it is a passive 4-ohm speaker with 92 dB sensitivity that runs fine from a head unit. For maximum output, pair it with an amplifier rated up to about 95 W RMS per channel at 4 ohms.
Are grilles included with the CPX 165?
No. The CPX 165 ships as a pair of speakers only; the matching Hertz CPG 165 grille is sold separately. (Its 6x9 sibling, the CPX 690, does include grilles.)
What is the difference between the Hertz CPX 165 and CPK 165?
The CPX 165 is the coaxial version - tweeter and crossover built onto the woofer for one-hole installation - while the CPK 165 is the component version of the same Cento Pro platform with separate tweeters and external CPCX 2 crossovers.
