The Diamond Audio HX1600.1D is a HEX Series single-channel Class D monoblock subwoofer amplifier rated at 700 watts RMS into 4 ohms, 1,150 watts RMS into 2 ohms and 1,600 watts RMS into 1 ohm, for 12-volt car, truck and UTV subwoofer systems.

Fitment

This is a universal 12-volt amplifier, not a vehicle-specific part. It fits any car, truck, Jeep, side-by-side or marine-style build that has room for the 15.8 x 7.67 x 2 inch chassis and can supply power and ground wire sized for its 160 amps of on-board ATC fusing (four 40-amp fuses).

Match it to the load rather than to the vehicle. Use the 4-ohm rating for a single 4-ohm voice coil, the 2-ohm rating for a dual-4-ohm subwoofer wired in parallel, and the 1-ohm rating for a dual-2-ohm subwoofer in parallel or two 2-ohm subwoofers.

Do not confuse it with its siblings. The HX1600.1D is the 1,600-watt monoblock; the HX1200.1D is the smaller 1,200-watt monoblock, while the HX1200.5 and HX480.4 in the same HEX Series are full-range multichannel amplifiers that drive speakers, not a dedicated subwoofer amplifier like this one.

Diamond Audio lists the HEX Series under car audio and publishes no IP rating, marine rating or conformal-coating claim for it. In an open cab or a side-by-side, mount it in a dry, protected location such as under a seat or inside a sealed enclosure.
