About Hitches & Towing
Towing isn't an afterthought — it's part of how off-road and truck owners operate. A proper hitch setup means you can move equipment, trailers, and toys without second-guessing your gear. Whether you need a receiver hitch, a ball mount, a pintle setup, or the hardware to complete an existing install, the right components keep your rig capable and your load secure.
What to Consider When Choosing Towing Gear
- Receiver size: Match your hitch receiver class to your vehicle's tow rating and intended use — 1-1/4" for lighter duty, 2" for most trucks and Jeeps, 2-1/2" for heavy haulers.
- Tongue weight and gross tow rating: Never exceed your vehicle's rated limits, and make sure every component in the chain is rated to match.
- Ball mount drop and rise: A level trailer tows safer and more efficiently — get the right drop or rise for your lift height and trailer coupler.
- Wiring and brake controllers: Lights and trailer brakes are legal requirements on most setups and critical for safety on any terrain.
At Dirt Masters, we stock towing components built for real-world use — not just pavement. If you're running a lifted truck or a modified Jeep, fitment and clearance matter as much as capacity. Shop the collection to find what fits your build and gets the job done right.
